Lately, Still in Black and White

Change is inevitable, as they say.

Yes, I do agree to it and we can always succumb to what ever changes our lives has to offer.  However, fashion-wise, my love for the black and white color combination remains steadfast and impregnable.  Hence, where ever I may be in our planet we call Earth, you certainly can snap a candid photograph of me with my shades on and in that shrewd, rather artsy, black and white ensemble.

What I Wore:

fitted short-sleeve top - Eten  worn underneath the
black sleeveless long top with goose appliqué - Moschino Cheap and Chic
cropped wide-leg stripe b/w pants - unbranded
white flats - Gibi Shoes
sunglasses - Gaisano Country Mall

I guess I am back on track again.
Do keep coming back for my black and white personal style stories.

Discovering Brera

I have a new product brand discovery and the name of the brand is BRERA (Art Lab) made in Italy.

The brand BRERA  (Art Lab) is honestly very strange to me.  I have no single idea, nor heard about BRERA until I scored this precious gem from one of the vintage (possible second-hand or pre-loved) shops in one of the malls in Mandaue City.  The store sells branded vintage pieces like bags and clothes and is now a favorite of mine as I have bought another bag from their store recently- for myself and for my mom-  and definitely will be frequently dropping by to do some shopping in this vintage hub.  The sales lady has already known me by face and was generous enough to give me ample discounts with my purchases.

I am not a bag lover and I have been repeatedly declaring this, as I am more of a clothes and shoes addict.  I seldom  buy bags for myself.  My arms are always wide open when it comes to bags as I receive gifts or hand-me-downs from either my sister or my mom.  It is always a surprise when all of a sudden I do shopping for bags.

With sight of this purple-fuchsia-magenta color combo and that artsy design on the front of the bag, despite the price was quite high as I expected, but I went impulsive, more when I knew it was on 50% off sale. At first, I was somehow in doubt with the price but nevertheless, I got the bills from my pocket and paid without haggling as I was in so much awe with the design and the quality of the bag.  The sling bag never looked shabby, nor used, nor antiquated.  It was in perfect condition, just like a brand new item up for grabs.

I have not yet reached the official website of BRERA Art Lab, but their social media page in facebook did confirm how creatively and beautifully the bags are designed.  I am more amazed now. Kudos to the team who gave birth to the  brainchild of BRERA Art Lab.

What I Wore:
fuchsia dress (same HERE) - Never Been Kissed @ Robinsons Department Store / polka dot top (same HERE) - Cyecle /  fuchsia patent leather pumps - Payless / sling bag - Brera Art Lab / black stretch belt - SM Ladies Department Store / sunglasses - G. Country Mall / pearl drop earrings - gifted by my mom

I am now on a lookout for anything BRERA Art Lab.  I wish to own another BRERA Art Lab bag to satisfy my art cravings in a bag format.

1 Heart Dress, 2 Ways

My love for black and white is a public knowledge, as I have the propensity to almost always put on this color combination.  Upon having a sight of a heart print dress with the heart colored in white and laid out in a black contrast, I was certainly sure it will come home with me, and it did.  The immediate photo below that I grabbed from the internet is similar to my choice as to the print but differs on the hemline.

Whenever I purchase an apparel, I always ensure to maximize its intended function.  With my love for clothing and styling, I have fabricated a vault of fashionable imaginations on how to dress-up a dress, as in this new addition to my wardrobe.  See below as to how I styled my black and white heart dress.

Well you may have noticed that I have never posted a photo wearing no-sleeves outfit, simply because it is not my preference.  So when I purchased this dress, I disregarded the fact that it is a sleeveless dress, there a many ways how to address that concern.  I am also giving ideas on how to amplify the value of sleeveless dress, aside from wearing it as it is.

SIGH STYLE TIPS:
How To Dress-up with a B/W Heart Dress
How to Maximize a Sleeveless Dress

Styling No. 1
I wore the dress a it is, but covered it up with a black sheer kimono-style bolero and cinched it with a belt.  Matched the color combination of the dress with a black and white flats.

Styling No. 2
The other option of wearing the heart dress and not worrying that it is a sleeveless dress, is to wear a sleeve top underneath of the dress, and instantly you have a jumper dress!

Hope to have shared practical fashion ideas to maximize the use of a sleeveless dress.

What I Wore:
heart dress - G. Fiesta Mall / white top with heart appliques on the sleeves - Palacio de Fashion / white stretch belt - Landmark in Makati / wedge - Chinese Laundry / sunglasses - G. Fiesta Mall

Trend Alert: Asymmetrical Hem for F/W 2015-2016

Fall/ Winter 2015-2016 Fashion Trend #17: Asymmetrical Hemlines

via Fashioners.com

It's my SKORT that makes this look  access the Fall-Winter trend for ASYMMETRICAL HEMLINES.

Since I am no longer that fond of exposing my gams. my black leggings is always a default.  The skort is worn with my trusted leggins underneath. Tucked my shirt on my stripes skort, rolled the sleeves and I was good to go.

I loved this look because it was in my all-time favorite color combination: BLACK and WHITE.

Wore this outfit while running errands for my mom.

1 Pink Cat Dress, 2 Ways

I tried researching for an image of the phrase pink cat dress at google.com (images) and here's what I saw:

The pink dress with cat head print (as seen above) is the exact replica of the dress I bought online through SHEIN.COM website (then SheInside).
Through the internet, I have also saved photos of other ladies wearing the exact pink dress, which include Lindsay Lohan ( see photo above).

As I find the shift dress quite short, so I used it as a long blouse.  Scroll down further to see how I styled one dress in two ways.

pink cat dress - Pandora @ SheIn.com / grey cape - H&M / black leggings - my closet / cat-eye sunglasses - Aldo / green sling bag - Coach / shoes - G. Grand Fiesta Mall

Trend Alert: Polka Dots for Spring 2015

TREND ALERT:
Polka Dots

Polka dots are one of the biggest trends for Spring 2015,  See Here and Here, and for sure there are a lot more of websites talking about this one trend for the season.

I have always been a lover for anything polka dots, most especially in the black and white combo.  My previous posts could certainly attest this statement. And when I got the chance to score this polka dot pants, without doubt and second thoughts, I purchased it right away and have been constantly wearing this chic yet comfortable fashion piece whenever possible.

This year, seems to be a revival of my old good habits of dressing up.  I let my old self come back to the present and bring out my passion for fashion. I have always known myself, and other people have even noticed it, that I do dress-up and almost always in a color-coordinated mode.  This propensity did give birth to a greater fraction of my self-declared fashion advocacy.  I have been talking about my fashion advocacy which is C.L.E.A.N. Fashion where C is for color coherence or color-coordination.

In these two sets of ensemble, I have consistently injected the shade and tint of pink to be monotony-breaker.  Shade of coral and tint of fuchsia are my choices as pink is also a favorite and a go-to hue of mine.

WORK STYLE:
Let's Do The Polka

These two sets of polka dots outfit were actually worn during Wednesdays.  I wore these seemingly-matchy separates to work and was obviously complemented for looking matchy.  Of course, my style is never new to them, but somehow they are quite still amaze or astounded at times as they remain clueless of what I will be wearing next.  See SIGH STYLE Tips below to grasp an idea on how to pull-off an all-polka dots look to work.

SIGH STYLE TIPS:

The Question
How To Wear All-Polka Dots Outfit

The Answers

(1) Top and Bottom separates in black and white polka dots is effortlessly and modishly worn when paired with a solid color of your favorite shade and tint.

(2) Polka Dots separates can still even be pulled-off without a monotony-breaker piece of clothing, who says you can't wear polka dots head to toe?  Your accessories, which includes the bag and the shoe could either be color coherent to the polka dots combo or any color of your choice.

(3) Wear it with the right amount of confidence.  Oftentimes, it's the attitude that counts the most.

What I Wore:
(1)
fuchsia pink cardigan - Alturas Department Store @ Tagbilaran City, Bohol
sheer long-sleeve polka dots top - Manga Dua Square @ Jakarta, Indonesia
polka dots pants - Cyecle
fuchsia pink flats- MNG
sunglasses - gifted by my sister from Las Vegas, Nevada
(2)

Hope to have shared another piece of useful fashion thoughts for tonight.

Sunday Style: Simply Miss

When going to church to hear mass, it is required, and I think this must be the most appropriate thought for any female churchgoer, for females - girls or women - to wear dress or skirt for this special 1-hour solemn activity.

Last Sunday, I wore a fuchsia pink dress with a length just an inch above the knee, a look that is simply for a Miss.

Wore the dress underneath a short-sleeved knit, tie-front bolero for a more modest look.

Completed the look with sequined flats in stripe black and silver and that cat-eye sunglasses.

What I Wore:
dress - Never Been Kissed @ Robinsons Department Store
knit bolero - Alturas Department Store in Tagbilaran City
sequined flats - Syrup @ People Are People
sunglasses - Aldo

How to Wear Black and White

Yesterday, I attended a whole day seminar relative to my profession.  Since I know this is one of those events that requires more dormancy than action i.e, sitting the entire time is expected.  So I decide to wear something comfortable without sacrificing my personal style.

I am most attached to black and white, my closet is filled with apparels of the color combo. What I wore yesterday is a demonstration of how to wear black and white effortlessly yet chic.

In events like this, I tend to wear my not-so-usual type of footwear.  I go for heels, kitten heels in exact.

I have always been opened to how much I am in awe with the black and white color palette, as seen HERE.

To break the monochromatic appeal of the black and white color concotion, I opted for a brown bag, another neutral color to match my classic ensemble.

Gold accessories added sophistication to my outfit.

What I Wore:

Top - Cyecle
Cropped pants - G. Fiesta Mall
T-strap B/W mary janes - Cardam's Shoes
Bag - Nine West
Accessories - Pop Art at ATC
Sunglasses - SM Kids

Are you in to the black and white color combo?

New Year, New Realizations, New Plans

The new year is here, time for building new plans and realizing the long list of to-do's.
Last month of December, I admit I did something great.  I never thought I could achieve such.  It took me decades, literally, to accomplish it.  And I am more grateful to the Almighty God for helping me out so much.  And such accomplishment lead my 2014 to the most upright path.
I have several realizations when I welcomed the new year.
I realize, I should continue doing what I love.  Apart from my day job, I have other interests which fulfills my hunger for the arts and of course, fashion.
Looking back 2013, reminiscing the forecasts of Feng Shui masters, last year was not my year. and even this year, some of them say it's not good others say it'll be okay.  And I realize that I should not allow myself to be drawn into such conclusions.  May it be true or not,  I should go on with what I believe what I ought to do.
I am the type person who lives life day-to-day.  I do look forward for the future but I am more committed to what is in today, checking from time to time if I have been doing things according to what my heart yearns and of course with God's will.
For 2014, I bravely plan to pursue my yesterday's dream, especially my other interests...fashion styling, photography, fashion merchandising, charity works, and all those activities that I have been itching to be into action.

My day job would still be there and my efforts for it would still exceed what is expected from me.
I am ecstatic to act on all my plans for this year.  I have started some, not one buy one, but simultaneous as possible as I can.  I sincerely pray for God's guidance.  And I hope that this enthusiasm should remain as warm from the beginning as it should be in the end of the year.  I envisioned the prosperous fulfillment of the desires of my heart this 2014.
